The Daniel Wright Science Bowl Team Captures Regional Championship
The Science Bowl Team from Daniel Wright Junior High School competed with nine other middle school teams and captured the championship at the 2017 Regional Science Bowl Competition at Argonne National Laboratory on Saturday, February 4. The Daniel Wright Science Bowl Team was comprised of the following students: Anay Aggarwal (grade 8), Anmol Dash (grade 7), Sai Merneedi (grade 8), Praneet Rathi (grade 8), and Ryan Yao (grade 8).
Mrs. Sophia Capelli serves as the academic coach for the Daniel Wright Science Bowl Team, and Mr. Anthony Hafner serves as the car team coach.
This is the fourth consecutive year the school’s Science Bowl Team took the regional crown at Argonne Labora- tory to advance to the National Science Bowl® in Washington,
D.C. This is the sixth time in seven years a team from Daniel Wright will be part of the National Science Bowl® competition. This year, the national competition will take place from April 27 - May 1, 2017. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science manages the national finals for high school and middle school teams.
